Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to MailGrab, an SMTP sandbox and email testing service operated by Michele Brandolin, an individual based in Italy.

Last updated: June 6, 2026

By creating an account, accessing a shared workspace, or otherwise using MailGrab, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy . If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Service Description

MailGrab captures email sent by your applications to a test SMTP endpoint and provides tools to inspect messages, headers, source, attachments, rendering, searchable content, and email client compatibility.

MailGrab is intended for development and testing. It is not a production email delivery provider, mailbox service, archival system, or marketing platform, and it must not be used to deliver messages to real recipients.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal capacity and authority required to accept these Terms. If you use MailGrab for an organization, you confirm that you may bind that organization.

You agree to provide accurate information and keep account and SMTP credentials confidential.

MailGrab may support password login, email verification, email one-time codes, trusted-device cookies, and Google sign-in. The exact checks applied depend on the sign-in method, account state, and security configuration.

Notify [email protected] promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Plans, Limits, and Preview Availability

Features, usage limits, retention periods, and workspace allowances are shown in the product or on the pricing page. They may vary by plan and may be changed prospectively as the service develops.

MailGrab is currently made available as a pre-commercial or preview service. Although billing interfaces may be present for testing, paid subscriptions are not generally offered to real customers unless MailGrab expressly presents a live checkout and complete pre-contract information.

Before paid subscriptions are commercially activated, the purchase flow and applicable terms will be updated with the provider's full geographic contact details, final pricing, taxes, cancellation terms, refund rules, and any mandatory consumer withdrawal information.

4. Future Paid Services

If paid subscriptions become available, the price, billing interval, included features, and renewal terms displayed at checkout will form part of the offer. Paddle may act as Merchant of Record and handle payment, invoicing, tax, and customer-facing transaction records.

Any cancellation or refund terms will apply only to the extent permitted by mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable rights available to consumers.

5. Acceptable Use

You may use MailGrab only for lawful development and testing activities. You must not:

  • Use MailGrab as production email infrastructure or submit messages intended for real delivery
  • Upload unlawful, abusive, malicious, infringing, or exploitative material
  • Include real personal, confidential, regulated, or sensitive data unless appropriately authorized and protected
  • Attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, authentication, access controls, or retention rules
  • Probe, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or another user's data
  • Distribute malware, credentials, secrets, or harmful code through messages or attachments
  • Resell or sublicense the service without written permission
  • Use guest links or invitations to disclose content to people who are not authorized to receive it

6. Customer Content and Instructions

You retain your rights in content submitted to MailGrab. You grant MailGrab a limited right to receive, store, parse, index, transform, analyze technically, display, transmit to contracted infrastructure providers, and delete that content as necessary to provide and secure the service.

You are responsible for the content, your instructions, the lawfulness of processing, and the use of personal data in test messages. You must obtain all permissions and legal bases needed for data concerning other people.

Test messages and attachments are temporary and are deleted according to the applicable retention setting. You must keep any copy you need elsewhere.

7. Teams, Invitations, and Guest Links

Workspace owners control invitations, team membership, and guest links. Owners are responsible for granting access only to authorized people, choosing appropriate password and expiry settings, and revoking access when it is no longer required.

Actions taken by invited members may affect the shared workspace. Anyone receiving a guest link must protect it and use the displayed content only for its intended testing purpose.

8. Service Changes and Availability

MailGrab may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue features, especially during preview. Maintenance, security events, providers, internet failures, and software defects may interrupt availability. No service-level agreement applies unless agreed separately in writing.

9. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using MailGrab and delete your account through available settings. MailGrab may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address a breach, abuse, security risk, legal obligation, non-payment after commercial launch, or risk to other users.

Where practical and lawful, notice will be given. Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should continue, including responsibility for prior conduct, intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limitations.

10. Intellectual Property

MailGrab's branding, original interface, documentation, and service-specific code and content are owned by Michele Brandolin or the relevant licensors. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of your content or grant a right to use MailGrab names, logos, or trademarks except as necessary to use the service.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the preview service is provided "as is" and "as available". MailGrab does not warrant uninterrupted operation, preservation of content, complete detection of email compatibility problems, or suitability for production or regulated workloads.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections where they apply.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailGrab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, lost profits, lost data, or losses caused by using the service as production infrastructure or failing to maintain independent copies.

Where liability may lawfully be limited, aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount paid for the service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. For a free or preview service, that amount may be zero.

These limitations do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability or mandatory right that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

13. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how MailGrab processes account, technical, analytics, and test email data.

14. Changes to These Terms

MailGrab may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or law. Material changes will be communicated by reasonable means and, where required, before they take effect. Changes do not retroactively remove mandatory rights.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by Italian law, without depriving a consumer of mandatory protections available under the law of their habitual residence.

Courts in Italy will have jurisdiction where legally permitted. Consumers may also bring proceedings before courts available to them under mandatory consumer law. The former European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on July 20, 2025 and is not presented as an available dispute channel.

16. General Terms

  • These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement governing the service.
  • If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
  • A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • You may not assign your rights without consent; MailGrab may assign the service to a lawful successor.
